Cowes Sailability Club has launched an initiative to help lift the spirits of its vulnerable members and volunteers during the COVID-19 outbreak

All of Cowes Sailability Club’s members and a large proportion of its volunteers have disabilities or underlying medical conditions. This means that they are among the most vulnerable people on the Isle of Wight during the COVID-19 outbreak.

To help its members and volunteers to cope throughout what could be a long period of uncertainty and social isolation, Cowes Sailability Club has launched an initiative called ‘Ahoy There’. Representatives from the charity are telephoning members and other volunteers to have a chat, lift their spirits and help relieve feelings of loneliness.
