Born with a rare neurological condition, 24-year old Josef is developing his communication skills and learning how to work as part of a crew.

Cowes Sailability Club has been an amazing opportunity for Josef, enabling him to do things that he wouldn’t otherwise experience.  He has enjoyed sailing in small sailing boats, as well as taking trips on fast motorboats.  Being on the water is so good for him emotionally and developmentally, as it helps him to relax and learn how to work as part of a crew.

Cowes Sailability Club provides a welcoming and friendly environment where Joseph can mix with new people and form friendships with other young people with disabilities.  Being with others is also helping Josef to improve his communication skills and vocabulary.  Cowes Sailability Club really has opened up the world for him.

I’ve very grateful for all the opportunities that the charity provides for my grandson.  We live on an island, surrounded by the sea.  Cowes Sailability Club is such a worthwhile and inclusive charity as it helps everyone to enjoy the sea.
