Cowes Sailability Club has arranged a full service of all of its life jackets in preparation for the new sailing season, with funding from a Magic Little Grant.

Magic Grant

Cowes Sailability Club is required to service all of its life jackets every year, to verify that they are in good working condition. This year, this vital safety procedure has been funded by a Magic Little Grant, awarded through the partnership between Localgiving and Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

“Safety is our paramount concern,” says Steve Cooper, Cowes Sailability Club’s Health and Safety Officer.  “Every week during the sailing season, we provide activities on the water for adults and children with physical disabilities, learning difficulties and debilitating long term illnesses, and we need to have absolute confidence in our safety equipment.  We are incredibly grateful for the Magic Little Grant, which has helped us to ensure all our life jackets are functioning properly.”

All of Cowes Sailability Club’s twenty six life jackets were serviced professionally by SeaSafe Systems, a company that specialises in marine safety clothing and marine safety products.  Based in Cowes, the company has been manufacturing and servicing life jackets and other safety equipment for over 50 years.
